There are some jeans that I would consider my experience with them as love at first sight. The moment I try them on, I fall in love with them immediately. That was the case for these jeans. At first glance, they didn’t look very different from other wide leg/flare styles that I’ve seen. But I was curious to try one of Current Elliott’s bell style jeans because 1.) I’m a huge fan of Current/Elliott, and 2.) it just made sense that I should own one of the biggest trends right now coming from one of my favorite designers. Well, the moment I put them on, I knew instantly that I had to have them. I did a review on the Low Bell Jeans in their Blue Moon wash previously (see review).
Current Elliott, in my opinion, makes some of the most comfortable jeans. The material on these jeans is so soft and stretchy. Made of 98% cotton and 2% elastin, these are a thicker denim. There’s a lot of stretch to these jeans, adding to the comfort. Because of the stretch, I’d say these run about one full size large from most other designer’s standard sizes. But Current/Elliott does tend to run a bit large in most of their jeans.
The color is called Compass. It’s a medium to dark colored denim. It has a slight hint of that dirty denim color to the faded areas. This is the five pocket style with no embellishment to these jeans, which is also pretty common for Current/Elliott because the fit of their jeans speaks for itself.
What I love most about these jeans is the cut. They’re very fitted and tight all along the upper part of the jeans through the thighs, and then they break 15 inches down the inseam of the leg to a bell opening. The leg opening is 22 inches. These are a true bell bottom jean. The rise is a little lower at 7 inches, which is perfect for me. I don’t like my jeans too high (which is the direction many jeans are going this season), and I don’t like them too low either. These run a bit long with a 34 inch inseam. But the beauty of this cut is that it gives length to the legs. So even if you don’t have mile long legs, you can still pull this off. They will make your legs look longer. If you’re on the more petite side, I’d suggest wearing these with a higher shoe, like wedges or platforms.
The washing instructions are: machine wash cold, tumble dry medium, low iron, do not bleach.
Dakota Fanning was spotted wearing these jeans in their Blue Moon wash (see review).
