Maternity – 7 For All Mankind Cropped Dojo

Are you expecting?  Stay fashionable while your body continues to change.  Welcome to our first designer maternity review.   These are 7 For All Mankind Cropped Dojo in a Rinse Wash.  These are my first pair of maternity designer jeans so bear with me as I attempt to provide as much useful information as I can.

As most pregnant women, I’ve worn the BellaBand by Ingrid and Isabel for as long as my non-maternity jeans would allow in order to stretch my existing wardrobe before stepping into maternity wear.   It’s so hard to justify the cost of designer maternity jeans when it seems so temporary but after trying these Dojos, I have to admit they are worth its money in comfort and style.

First, let’s go over the usual…the color is a dark wash that will go with anything.  It has little fading which is nice for maternity because one may no longer want to draw attention to certain areas of the body as pre-pregnancy.  It’s a clean, simple and dark wash.  The look is 7 FAM’s well known Dojo style and this one is cropped.   As for fit, I recommend trying a few sizes beyond what you normally wear since it can be difficult to gauge sizing at this stage.  And you may  or may not be able to wear this size throughout the duration of your pregnancy, but keep in mind that these sizes can be worn again post pregnancy to get more wear.

The material is their 10oz super stretch fabric which is very soft and very moveable.   The wear is super comfortable.  7 FAM does a great job keeping the normal denim look.  Your usual 7 FAM rear pockets and the standard five pocket design of regular denim.

Now since these are maternity, the differences are that the waist is modified with what they call a ‘secret fit belly’ flap.  This flap is made to be worn over your growing belly or it can be rolled down and worn under your belly.  What I love about this flap is that it does a great job holding your pants up in the absence of your usual denim waist.  This is a big factor when it comes to maternity jeans.

The only downside to these jeans is that the belly flap is about five inches wide in the front which covers mid belly on me.  The problem with this is that the elastic sometimes shows through when I wear a light material top.  It doesn’t give an entirely clean look with all outfits.  One way to avoid this is to buy a pair of maternity jeans that has more belly coverage.  This belly flap comes in different widths.  I recommend buying one that is higher than the one here.  But overall, these are great jeans that are comfortable to wear.  And while one is pregnant, comfort is a such a big factor.

      Hi Lora,
These are from A Pea in a Pod. I don’t believe that they carry them anymore. Have you tried Ebay? They have a few listings for pre-owned.
