Dittos Sailor Baby Wideleg Jeans in Roadhouse

Now that the whole wide leg jeans trend is back in full swing, I decided to pull out some oldies but goodies. These are a pair of Sailor Baby jeans by Dittos in Roadhouse wash. I decided to review these jeans because if you’re going to do a review about wide legs, I figure who better to review none other than the company who knows it best. Dittos are known for their old school feel, but their jeans never look dated. They’ve mastered the remake of the wide leg jeans that are branded as one of the most popular looks of the 70’s.
These Sailor Baby jeans are not your typical 5 pocket style. They have flap button enclosures on both front and back pockets, giving an interesting and unique twist to these jeans. The buttons are oversized and chunky, which is what the 70’s were about in many of their fashion accessories. The buttons are all tortoise colored, with closures on each side of the front. There’s also a burnt orange colored contrast stitching along the waist, outer inseam, bottom seam, belt loops, and pockets. The wash is a medium blue shade with fading along the front thighs to the knees. There is also some slight fading in the rear thigh area.
Because of the lower placement of the rear pockets, it gives a more flattering look to the rear which is always nice for those of us with smaller backsides. The top area of the jeans is fitted, while the flare begins along the mid thigh area, breaking 16 inches at the knee. The bottom leg opening is approximately 24 inches. The rise is 8 inches. The inside of the jeans is lined with a colorful striped inlay. I love when jeans have fun little details like this, even though no one else will see it except you.
These jeans can either be dry cleaned (for the hardcore denim enthusiasts) or machine washed in cold. They are made of 90% cotton and 10% elasterell, giving a bit of a stretch. I’d say these run slightly on the large side, around a half size large. So if you’re in between sizes, I’d say to go down in size.
I love Dittos jeans and these jeans in particular because of their ability to take a modern twist on jeans that are retro in style. They are extremely comfortable. The denim is very soft and softens even more with wear.
The downfall with these jeans is that they are not flattering on everyone. I wouldn’t suggest these jeans for anyone with wider hips because the side openings, along with the chunky buttons, will accentuate that. Also, wide legs jeans are more flattering for those who are on the taller side. If you aren’t at least 5’4″, I’d say to avoid these jeans like the plague. However, if you are tall, lean, and have smaller sized hips, then I’d highly recommend these. They are calling out to body types like yours!
These jeans have been seen worn on Kat Von D.

Oooooh, love the jeans, love the site! Post frequently, please! (Oh, every now and then, can you mention a few online shopping sites worth visiting? Thanks to my lack of knowledge in the online shopping world, I’m only glued to nordstroms.com and saks.com, how sad, right). Once again, love the site!
