I decided to pull out an oldie but goodie for this review. These are Frankie B’s Secret Lover Skinny jeans from Frankie B’s 2008 collection. I remember when I first saw an ad for these jeans, I had to have them! There was something about the dark raw denim color that I fell in love with. I thought they looked so classy. The wash is called Raw, which is exactly how the color should be described. It’s a deep dark raw blue colored denim.
The thing that stands out most in these jeans is the back pockets. They have unique heart-shaped pockets with gold hardware zippers. I love the gold hardware and gold contrast stitching against the dark blue wash. The hardware is made of a very thick metal. The downfall to that is that when I sit on something, the zipper tends to rub against whatever I’m sitting on. The leather seats in my car have taken quite a beating from these jeans. Another thing about the back pockets is that because they have a fancy shape, they’re less flattering on the rear than most other Frankie B Jeans.
Made of 89% cotton and 11% T-400, these have a lot of stretch to them. The waistband is very forgiving and not at all constricting. These jeans are very comfortable, as most Frankie B jeans are because of the stretch in the material. This style is considered skinny, but they’re not skin tight like most other skinny jeans. I’d actually consider them more of a straight leg jean that tapers at the leg opening, which measures 13 inches. I’d say these run about one size large. I’m wearing my normal size in these photos, but I really wish I could have gone down a size. I prefer my skinnies to be very fitted.
The inseam is 34 inches. Rise measurement is 7 inches. They fit fairly low along the hips, as do most of Frankie B jeans.
Washing instructions are: dry clean or machine wash cold, tumble dry low, low iron if needed.
These jeans sold out quickly, but you can find Frankie B’s very similar skinny jeans in their Bayberry wash at Amazon.
