J Brand 910 Twill Skinnies in Orchid

I’ve really been getting into the whole colored denim trend. I feel like it’s a denim essential this season. There are so many colors to choose from, especially from J Brand, so I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to start with. When I saw these, I jumped at the chance of purchasing them because it seems that once any color denim is in stock, they’ve been selling out immediately.
These are J Brand’s 910 Skinny Leg cut, which I own in several different washes. These fit just as tight and flattering as the others. The difference, however, with these is the material. Made of 98% cotton and 2% lycra, they’re made of Japanese twill (the same material as J Brand’s ever famous Houlihan cargos). At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about this material for these particular pair of pants because I feel like it shows every curve of your body, and not always in the most flattering way. But the more I wear them, the more I love them. I’d say they run true to J Brand’s 910 Skinny sizing, which is a little on the smaller side. I normally wear my true size even in the 910 Skinnies because I like my jeans as fitted as possible, but I took one size up in these which work for me. They stretch out slightly with wear, but for once, I actually like that because of the color. I’m normally of the mindset that you should wear whatever is the smallest size you can fit in when it comes to denim. But because of the color on these, I feel like it’s ok for them not to be SUPER skin tight. They are so comfortable because of the stretch as well as the soft feeling of the twill material.
These are the classic five pocket style, but the front pockets are actually sewn shut like many of J Brand’s other leggings. They have a zipper fly with a 7 inch rise, 12 inch back rise, 29 inch inseam, and 10 inch leg opening. They’re machine washable in cold, tumble dry low. The wash is called Orchid, which is a faded pink color. It’s a very earthy pink because of the vintage fade to the wash, but they’re also very feminine. Perfect color for the spring and summer! And because of the shorter inseam, it’s always a plus for me when I don’t need to get my jeans altered.
True to J Brand’s form, these jeans have no embellishments, but the cut and style speak for itself. And in the case of these jeans the color really stands out, adding more character to them. I’m pretty sure these are just the beginning of colored denim purchases for me this season.
Celebrities seen wearing J Brand jeans in other light pink shades are Nicky Hilton and Rachel Bilson.

They don’t make other bright colors in this cut as far as I know so far, but J Brand does make other darker colors in another style. They’ve also made quite a few colors in their cut off shorts. We will be posting some more of their bright colored pants in future reviews. Stay tuned!

  5. I’m an aspiring writer-of all literary trades (journalism, screen writing, satire, etc)-but I want to start a blog for some adult oriented, romantic fantasy literature. Anyone know how I can start a blog that will allow me to do this? I believe I’ll need a warning page before entrance, and I want it to come up on search engines..
