I decided to pull out an oldie and definitely a goodie today. These are Frankie B’s Make Love Not War Jeans. I love Frankie B’s more classic styles that had different embroidered designs on their jeans. These were actually a remake of their jeans that were originally made without the distressed holes. These jeans are from Frankie B’s Spring 2009 collection.
What I love most about these jeans is the rear pockets. On the right rear pocket, there is a floral embroidered design of a peace sign in pink, beige, cream, and orange, with small rounded pegs. Those same pegs are also along the waist band spelling, “Make Love Not War” along with more embroidered flowers. I love all the fun details to these jeans.
The wash is called Hipster which is a dark blue with fading throughout. There are also destroyed designs along the front legs and rear left pocket. The holes have been reinforced with extra stitching as to not allow the holes to grow larger. I can really appreciate attention to detail like that because so many of my destroyed jeans end up literally destroyed because the holes that were originally intended as a design become too large with wear over time.
The cut on these are fabulous as Frankie B always makes. These are a bootcut style. The rise is 7 inches. I had these altered at the inseam to 32 inches, but I believe they were originally 34 inches long. The leg opening was also originally 17 inches (but is now 16 inches after I had the length altered).
Made of 74% cotton, 25% polyester, and 1% lycra, these jeans have a decent amount of stretch. And they do stretch a bit after some wear. I’d say they run about a half size large, although they are fitted along the thighs.
Washing instructions are: Dry clean or machine wash inside out in cold, tumble dry low, warm iron.
Miley Cyrus was seen wearing the original Frankie B Make Love Not War Jeans (without the distressed design). Frankie B also made this same design in a shorts version. Contact us if you’d like to see a review for those.
