I’ve been curious to try this brand for some time now.  I’ve always thought of these as more of a men’s brand jean, but I’ve recently seen ads for their women’s jeans that look so flattering.  So I was so pleased when I was able to come across a pair for our guest model, Randi.  These are Nudie Tight Long John Jeans.

The wash is called Grey Crinkle which is a basic medium blue color that has a stone washed faded look to them.  They also have an orange colored contrast stitching, giving these jeans a down to earth feel.  But they can be dressed up just as easily.  I love how Randi added a pop of color with her green blouse and gold jewelry.

The material, made of 98% cotton and 2% lycra, is a heavy-weight, sturdy denim that feels a bit rigid at first.  But it softens up with some wash and wear.  One of the interesting things about Nudie jeans is the flexibility in the material.  These come in different inseam lengths.  This particular pair is labeled as having a 32 inch inseam.  However, before washing them, the actual inseam is 31 ½ inches.  When you wash them, you’re supposed to stretch them out while they’re damp to get the actual 32 inch inseam.

The sizing is also flexible.  Initially they feel a little looser.  But after washing them, they will shrink up to 3%.  So overall, these feel a little large initially.  But once washing as instructed, they run true to size.  The rise is 7 ¾ inches.  They look more like a mid-rise jean because the back rise is a bit higher at 13 ½ inches.  These are overall a more fitted style jean with a 12 inch leg opening.  (Keep in mind that measurements may vary slightly with different sizes).

I love the little details on these jeans, such as the hammered looking front button.  The rear pockets are shaped narrow and long with Nudie’s signature swirl design on each pocket.

Washing instructions are:  machine wash in 40 degrees, for best results do not tumble dry.
