We’ve hit a heat wave this past weekend where I am, so it’s been difficult to think about wearing jeans.  So you’ll probably be seeing a lot more reviews on shorts in the next few weeks.  These are Current/Elliott’s Boyfriend Shorts in Sweet Cream Ditsy.

What I love most about Current/Elliott jeans is the comfort.  If you’re familiar with their ever so popular boyfriend jean, then you know what I’m talking about.  These shorts are just as comfortable.  They’re not tight and constricting.  Rather, they run about a size large compared to other designer standard sizes (but the same as Current/Elliott typically runs).  Made of 98% cotton and 2% elastin, they do stretch out a bit after wear.  They feel very comfortable and have a worn-in feel to the denim.

The wash is called Sweet Cream Ditsy, which is not my most favorite name.  The word, “ditsy,” doesn’t evoke anything positive.  But the color is beautiful none the less.  The shorts are an off-white color with cranberry colored flowers and petals.  Some of the flowers are faded a bit.  It’s a really pretty and feminine wash.

I like the front pocket detail on the Boyfriend Short.  The inner pockets peak out through the bottom hem of the shorts.  But it also shows how short these are.  The inseam is 2 inches (total length of the shorts is 11 ½ inches), which is a little shorter than I’m comfortable with.  But if you’re comfortable in short shorts (aka: daisy dukes) and have the legs for it, then go for it.  These shorts are really pretty, and are a perfect color for the summer.  The rise measurement is 9 inches, and leg opening is 21 inches with a frayed hem.

Washing instructions are:  Machine wash cold, do not bleach, tumble dry low, iron low heat.

Hi, they are indeed adorable. You look so comfy wearing them.
I am thinking of purchasing the C/E floral stiletto jeans in blue ditsy. What do you think? I like the fact that they are slightly faded in the floral print so it’s still subtle. Do you think it’s still age appropriate to wear this for a woman over 40? I usually wear a size 25 in the stiletto style.
I just bought the C/E Stiletto in Black polka dot.
Thanks for your advice in advance.

I’m not familiar with a wash called blue ditsy. Are you referring to the Blue Rose or Lake Ditsy? If that’s the case, then I think either of those are very pretty. And the Stiletto cut is one of my favorites by Current/Elliott. I do think the floral prints are perfectly fine for a woman over 40, particularly these prints since they are more subtle. I’m a big believer in choosing styles that suit your body type and personality more so than your age. We did a review with our guest model, Randy, in the Red Rose wash here (which is similar to the Blue Rose wash)–http://www.styleposts.com/?p=5119. I hope this helps.
By the way, how do you like the Black Polka dot stilettos?? –Great choice, by the way!! 😉

Just got the shipping notification now for the polka-dot jeans so will let you know as soon as I get them!! Plan to wear them when it’s rainy season and of course during the cold season.
I am thinking maybe I will get the C/E boyfriend jeans in Sugar instead so it’s more versatile, classic and a relaxed fit for summer instead of another skinny jean. Think it’s more comfy for such a humid weather here in HK.
I apologize, I was referring to Lake Ditsy earlier. They are so pretty but don’t know if the printed floral denim will only last this summer and am a bit scared since I’m turning 43 this year and they may be too young for me?

I wonder that sometimes about some of the floral print jeans (how long the trend will last), but the Lake Ditsy has such a subtle floral print. And because they’re a darker color, I think you’ll be able to wear them well into the colder seasons. And no, I don’t think they are too young for you. 🙂
C/E Boyfriend jeans are never a bad choice. They’re classics, and you can never go wrong with them.
Let us know which jeans you end up choosing. And thanks for your comments. 🙂

I already have the C/E boyfriend jeans in Loved Destroy,, Super Loved and Tattered Destroy and 2 more C/E boyfriend jeans in cords. These were the jeans that got me hooked on this brand (and been very loyal) and never bought from another brand ever since. I felt the white (sugar) C/E BF jeans would be a great summer staple so I decided on these instead. HK can be soo hot and humid at the height of summer so this would prove very useful.
Thank you for all your very useful advice!!
