Hudson Loulou Tuxedo Jeans in Ziggy

We recently did a review on the Hudson Loulou Tuxedo Jean in Chopin (see review here).  The fit on these is so extremely comfortable and flattering, so I wanted to try them in multiple colors.  These were made in three different colors—green (Chopin), burgundy (Manson), and navy (Ziggy).  This particular pair is my favorite of the three.  These are Hudson Loulou Tuxedo Jeans in Ziggy.

I really like the color combination of navy and orange.  So this pair really caught my attention.   The orange side stripe is made of a phosphorescent material, which glows in the dark.   The navy is a really dark navy that almost looks black in certain angles.  But they are, indeed, navy.

The fit on these jeans aren’t like your typical skinny jeans.  They have a more relaxed fit.  So although they may seem like they run large, they’re meant to be slightly looser than your typical ultra skinny jeans.  If you prefer your jeans to fit super tight, then go down a size.  The inseam is 26 inches, which is the perfect length for me.  They fit above my ankles as a slightly cropped jean, which is exactly how I like my skinny jeans to fit in length.

The style is a classic 5 pocket style, although the front pockets are actually faux pockets.  The rise is 7 inches, but they don’t feel like a really low rise jean because the back rise is a little higher at 13 inches.  Made of 98% cotton and 2% elastan, these have some stretch to them.  And they do stretch out a bit after wear, which might be another reason to go down a size.  The leg opening is 10 ½ inches.

These jeans were inspired by LouLou de la Falaise who was the influence behind Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic Le Smoking Tuxedo.  And out of that inspiration came these fabulous Tuxedo jeans.

Washing instructions are:  dry clean only.

These jeans were seen on Karolina Kurkova, who looked amazing in them.
