I’m not much of a skirt person. In fact, it’s been a while since I’ve worn one out casually. But when I saw this skirt, I thought it was just too cute to pass up. This is Marc by Marc Jacobs Paperbag Skirt.
The fit is a little poofy with a 46 inch bottom opening to the skirt. The style reminds me a bit of a young school girl’s skirt. I remember wearing skirts like this when I was little, wearing them with knee high socks. I find it funny that decades later, I still enjoy wearing the same style skirt. I’d say it runs a bit large. It runs from sizes XS to L. It’s about a size large, so go down in size if it’s available.
The waist has a cream color draw string, which gives a nice option to be able to control how tight or loose you’d like to wear the skirt along the waist. The color of the skirt is called Lilith, which is a medium to light color wash. It’s faded in different areas of the skirt. The front has side slit pockets with a contrast pink colored stitch.
The bottom has a 2 ½ inch thick hem. I really like the length of the skirt, which is 16 inches total in length. This is the perfect length for a skirt, particularly for the summer. It’s not too long or too short. Made of 100% cotton, the material feels like a sturdy denim, but it’s soft and comfortable. And the material feels fairly light weight, making it more breathable for the warmer weather.
Washing instructions are: Machine wash cold, inside out separately, do not bleach, tumble dry low, low iron, do not dry clean.
