There are a few pairs of jeans that I’d consider a staple piece in anyone’s denim wardrobe.  I definitely have a few on my personal list, this pair being one of them.  These are Citizens of Humanity Cropped Thompson Jeans.  One of the things I really appreciate about this brand in particular is their ability to create jeans for most body types.  I personally have several girlfriends that have different styles of Citizens Jeans, all who are of different body types, and all who look great in their Citizens.

This pair in particular is a classic skinny cut jean.  The inseam is 28 inches, which works perfectly for me, where they hit just at the ankle.  For you taller gals, these will look great as cropped skinnies, which they’re actually intended to be.  The rise is a comfortable 9 inches, which flatters the tummy.  These are fitted throughout the thighs and calves, as they’re meant to be a skinny fit, with a 10 inch leg opening.  The cut on these is very flattering.  The rear pockets have Citizens signature pocket design.  Typically with a higher rise, the look of the rear tends to get compromised.  But that’s not the case for these.  The pocket placement on these makes the look of the rear very flattering.

Made of 98% cotton and 2% elastan, they don’t have a ton of elasticity to them.  But they do stretch out a little with wear and conform nicely to the body.  They run true to size.  The denim is very soft, as most Citizens Jeans are from my experience with this brand.

The wash is called True, which is a lighter wash with fading throughout the jeans.  I am really into the lighter washes these days, as they go really nicely with the summer.  They’re a nice casual color, but they certainly work well for evenings as well given the right top and shoes.

Washing instructions are:  machine wash cold, tumble dry low, medium iron if necessary, do not bleach.
