Summer is in full swing with the heat wave going on. It’s times like this that I’m glad that I live in a dryer climate. With all this heat, shorts are an essential. These are 7 For All Mankind Carlie Cut Off Shorts with Embroidered Artisan Pockets.
I have practically been living in these shorts since I got them for several reasons. For one, they go with just about everything. The color, Classic Vintage Blue, is a medium blue wash with fading on the rear and front with whiskering. The front and back pockets and waistband are also lightly destroyed. What stands out a bit more with these shorts is the front pockets. There’s a gold and light blue embroidered design lining the inner front pockets, which I love. The hem is frayed and a bit flared (24 inch leg opening) giving these a more relaxed fit. I’d say these run about a size large. I probably should have gone down a size in these.
Made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex, these shorts have a very comfortable fit. They do stretch out some with wear, so keep that in mind when choosing your size. The side outer legs have a 2 ½ inch slit, which adds to the flare on the leg opening. The rear pockets are simple with no design other than some distress and the 7 For All Mankind signature label on the right pocket.
I love the length on these shorts. They’re the exact length that I prefer in shorts. With a 4 inch inseam, they’re short enough to allow the legs to look elongated, but not too short as to make me feel self-conscious. The rise measurement is 8 ½ inches.
Washing instructions are: Turn inside out, machine wash cold separately, do not bleach, tumble dry low, iron when needed, or dry clean.
