J Brand Aoki Jeans in Obsessed

I haven’t been big on the whole boyfriend jeans trend since they first came out. As cute as they look, I just haven’t been able to let go of my skinnies. But when these Aoki jeans were released, I had to raise a brow. Although I haven’t been a big fan of the boyfriend jean, these caught my eye for several reasons. For one, J Brand is one of my favorite brands. I love the fit of their jeans. As simple as their styles are, the fit is so amazing. These Aoki jeans are no different. They are the perfect blend of boyfriend and skinny jeans. They aren’t as baggy and slouchy as most of the other boyfriend jeans out there. They’re more fitted but they still give the relaxed look of a boyfriend jean. At the same time, they still are on the skinny side. So if you’re partial to skinny jeans, these can still work for you. They’re slightly more roomy in the thigh area but not baggy, still giving a tighter fit.
As for the wash, the name is obsessed. I am obsessed with the obsessed wash! It’s a faded blue distressed wash with a bit of gray mixed in. Love love love the color! It’s a beautiful dusty blue.
The rise is 7 1/2 inches. The inseam on these is 25 1/2 inches uncuffed. When I cuff them, the inseam becomes 23 1/2 inches. You can wear them rolled up or not. Either way, they look amazing. If you’re on the taller side, wearing them cuffed might look a little short.  The leg opening is 10 inches. As for the sizing, I’d say they run pretty true to size, if not slightly on the larger size. If you’re between sizes, I’d say go down in size. If you’re familiar with J Brand’s sizing, I’d say to stick with your normal J Brand size.
The only complaint I’d have about these jeans is the placement of the hole on the knee. It’s right at the knee, making it really difficult to maneuver in these jeans without tearing the hole more. If I bend my knee ever so slightly, I can hear the hole tear a little. I’m hoping I don’t destroy the hole too much with wear.
These jeans are great for all seasons. Denim can always be worn in cooler weather. But because of the material and how lightweight these are, they’ll be great for the warmer seasons as well. They’re made of 92% cotton, 7% polyester, and 1% spandex.  Love these jeans!
I’m also wearing my marquise cut amethyst and diamond ring by BDP. (See photo below)  I love their pieces, and I love this ring.

I’m looking forward to seeing which celebrities will be seen wearing these Aoki jeans.

OMG! I LOVE LOVE this pair of jeans. It is super comfortable without looking to baggy. The wash is just incredible, and there is just the right amount of distress. The only compliant which is mentioned by the review is the hole on the knee. I already ripped it multiple times, and now the size of the hole is width of my knee. =( The size per the review was right. I ordered my usual size. Because the fabric is on the thinner side, I have a feeling these will be my “go-to” jeans this summer!

I’m glad you like them, Cindy! I agree about the knee part. The hole on my knee has torn a bit as well. 🙁 Otherwise, I love mine. These have been my go-to jeans for a while now. Enjoy your jeans! And thanks for commenting. 🙂

by the way, which size for j brand do you normally take? and which size for aoki? thanks

    • Susan says:

I took my normal size in J Brand in the Aoki’s. They run just a little large. If you’re in between sizes, then go down in size. Otherwise, stick to your normal size in these. I hope this helps.

This is what the Aoki’s are for me.  This is a sexy, fitted, boyfriend jean.  The color is a grey hue blended into the blue jean, which is perfect.
