I’ve been really into grey jeans lately. They’re very neutral and just as versatile as any other blue jean. But they have a bit more of an edge which I like, particularly this pair, Siwy Ruthie Jeans in Forbidden Love.
We’ve done a review on Siwy’s Ruthie Jean in the past (see here), but I decided to do this review because the different wash really changes the look of these jeans. The wash is called Forbidden Love which is a grey color with distress all along the thighs and fading along the rear, thighs, and knees. The hardware and contrast stitch are all in a matching gray color, as to not detract away from the color of the denim. I find grey colored jeans easiest to transition from day to evening.
The cut is slim fitting throughout the thighs and calves into a straight fit down the inseam which is 26 inches. I love the cropped fit on these. The leg opening is 12 inches, making these more of a straight leg so they don’t cling at your shins. Made of 98% cotton and 2% elastan, there’s a little bit of elasticity to these jeans. They run a bit snug initially, but they do stretch out to conform to the body. I’d say these run true to size with a fairly tight fitting waistband. The rise is 7 ¼ inches. The only downfall to these jeans is the placement of the holes along the left knee. However, with the stretch in the denim, it allows more flexibility. But I find myself feeling a lot more cautious when bending the knee in these in fear that the hole with tear larger.
These are a classic 5 pocket design, while the rear pockets have Siwy’s signature quilted design which tends to give dimension to the rear.
The washing instructions are: Machine wash cold inside out to retain color, do not bleach, tumble dry low, iron on low heat when necessary; dry clean only using perchloroethylene solvent.
