Rag & Bone/JEAN Skinny Jeans in Rock With Holes

The beauty of black jeans is that they can be worn for many occasions.  They’re easy to dress from day to evening, and they’re a classic that really don’t go out of style.  Keeping black jeans black can be the tricky part.  So what I appreciate about these jeans is that the faded look actually adds to the beauty of these jeans.  These are Rag & Bone/JEAN Skinny Jeans in Rock With Holes.

My favorite part of these jeans is the color.  The wash name is Rock With Holes which is a black wash that’s faded for a vintage/destroyed feel, and they have distress and holes all along the front.  I’m normally not a huge fan of this much distress in my jeans.  But because they’re such a dark color, the distress looks less obvious.  They have an edgy look to them, which I love.  My only concern is the location of the holes on the knees.  With the amount of leg bending that I do throughout my day, I’m always leery about jeans with holes on the knees.  Over time, these holes may get really blown out with wear.

These jeans are also extremely comfortable.  Most of the time, when I get a new pair of jeans, there’s typically a “breaking in” period.  But these jeans felt broken in from the moment I put them on.  Made of 98% cotton and 2% polyurethane, these jeans have a nice comfortable stretch to them.  Although they’re skinny jeans, they don’t feel overly constricting because of the amount of elasticity to the material.  These jeans run true to size.

The inseam is 29 ½ inches.  The rise measurement is 8 inches, which is a nice medium rise.  These fit snug all along the leg and thighs and come to a tight leg opening of 10 inches.  The style is a classic 5 pocket style with Rag & Bone’s signature RB initials stitched on the back right pocket.

Washing instructions are:  machine wash cold inside out, do not bleach, hang dry.

These jeans are a celebrity favorite, worn by Alison Mosshart, Emma Roberts, Ashley Benson, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, and many more.

    Hi Susan,

I’ve been wanted to get these jeans but unsure of the sizing as I never wear Rag n Bone jeans before. Could you please let me know what is your hip measurement? And how tall are you? Because I’m only 158cm (approx 5’2 I think), so I’m afraid the holes won’t be at the right places.

    Thank you! 🙂

I’m wearing a size 24. I’m 5’5″. No two pair are really the same because of the holes. But if you’re 5’2″, you should be ok where the holes are placed. In fact, they might hit right at your knee. Not sure if that’s good or bad. The holes look good at the knee, but it’ll be hard to bend the knee without tearing the holes a bit.

Wow you have quite a collection of Rag & Bone! I’m wondering now that you’ve collected a bit, how does this brand do in retaining shape? Especially with this composition of 98%cotton 2% polyurethane? I find that I’m sort of in between sizes but if I size down, I may get the dreaded muffin. Do these jeans get baggy throughout the day or after a few wears? Thank you!

These jeans in particular retain their shape fairly well. I find that most of Rag & Bone jeans don’t stretch out all that much after wear. As with any denim, they will stretch some. But I find that Rag & Bone doesn’t tend to lose its original shape much. That being said, if you’re in between sizes, you should be ok going with the smaller size because of the amount of stretch in the material and since the waste band has a decent amount of give for jeans.
